Mathildas Markets

Yay - It's Mathildas time again!!!

Mathilda's Market showcases and sells beautiful handcrafted and limited production baby and kids goods. Carefully handpicked stallholders bring the most divine and original clothing, accessories, homewares and toys for the little ones. Exquisite wares are lovingly made by some of Australia’s most talented crafters and designers – many of them parents themselves.

It’s a shopper’s heaven for those who want to stylishly dress their children or decorate their kids’ home environment, but don’t want to buy mass produced, chain store items. At Mathilda’s Market you’ll see the funkiest and most gorgeous of outfits for the kids, chic bedroom decorations and furnishings, bright and brilliant toys, must-have accessories, pretty and practical bags and shoes, dreamy vintage-inspired creations, handcrafted musical instruments and jewellery, fabulous dress-up costumes, striking linen ... and so much more!

As most of the stallholders don’t have a shop front, you are guaranteed to find something truly unique.

Come and see our stand at the upcoming Mathilda’s Market on Sunday 1 November, from 9am to 1pm at Brisbane City Hall, King George Square, Main Auditorium (ground floor).
With over 60 stallholders and yummy food this will be a fantastic day out for young & old. For a sneak preview, have a look at the website (www.mathildasmarket.com.au). I look forward to seeing you there!

Three Little Trees in Vietnam

Fishing village mothers checking out their new Three Little Trees clothes...

While in Vietnam over the last couple of weeks we went to visit a fishing village. I was amazed!

There are 166 people that live on this floating village - they rarely go to the mainland. The have a clinic there for births, dogs that jump from floating house to floating house...they have a primary school and when they reach the age of 13 they choose if they want to continue school - if they do; they move to the mainland, away from their families........hardly any of them choose to leave! So a lot of the people that live there spend their entire lives there. They make their living fishing for the restaurants on the mainland and cruising in their tinnies out to the big tourist boats to sell them cigarettes, biscuits & shells.

I had taken some Three Little Trees clothing over with me in hopes of making it to an orphanage but when at the village i gave them the clothes instead. They were thrilled!

xx

Summer at last!

Our Summer collection is in stores!

We haven't put it up on our site as we were blown away with orders this season and have sold out of a lot of the stock - we are still packing re orders for our stockists and after we see what is left we will put the remainder on our own site - it won't be much though!

So if you are as in love with our summer range as we are you had better hurry and get in to one of our stockists and deck your little one out for summer!!

Kate & Jac...xx

P.S. We would love to see some pictures of your children in Three Little Trees clothes!

Wedding plans...

Have decided to stop feeling guilty about not being a regular blogger and just accept the fact that i only have enough time in my life to blog once a month!

Latest news - wedding planning is so much fun!!

Tane and I are getting married in September after 10 years of being together and 2 children later! I dont know what i will do when i have no wedding to plan - i love it!!

There are so many cute things available out there to make your day so wonderful - if i could have 1 million themes for the day i would! I am glad that this was a spare of the moment decision and that i have only had 2 or 3 months to plan it - otherwise i would be broke and would change my mind a million times...

Some cool things that i have found that will be at my wedding :

Yummy Dinner...

After being broken into and having my poor baby (computer) stolen i finally have a new one - unfortunately when i plugged my backup disk in i found out it is corrupt!! AAHHH...i have lost everything, all my kids photos, all our work info and all my wedding planning stuff for our wedding in September! A note to everyone to make double backups or use an internet backup service....i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy if i had one!

Anyway - i'm not here to whinge about it, i'm hear to share my dinner with you - I made it up and it is a winner!!

"Kate's dont know what you would call it Pouches..."

Ingredients:

Bacon - about 5 rashers
garlic
2tbs butter
2tbs plain flour
some broccoli
some carrots - i used my neighbours fresh ones and i think that made a huge difference!
Stock - about 200 - 300 ml
cornflour - just a bit
1/2 a thing of cream

Method:

Steam broccoli and carrots.
Fry garlic with bacon in butter until nearly crisp...add plain flour and stir for a minute. Add stock and cook for further minute or 2.
Mash the broccoli and carrots roughly and add to mixture....
Stir in the cream and if needed add some cornflour that has been mixed with water or stock and stir again until thickish (like a pie filling)...

Put the mixture in pastry triangles and fold up at the sides so that it kinda looks like a pouch - brush with egg water or butter and cook for about 25mins at 180deg c..

YUM!!
The mixture doesnt look that great but my kids who don't like pastry munched 3 bowls of it on its own each!

Cut one whole pastry sheet in half diagonally to make a triangle then put a blob of mix in the middle and pouch it up!

A pic of what i get to look at while i'm cooking!
(especially for you little diva - nasty ay ha ha)

mmmmm....

Our crazy weather

Crazy crazy weather has been going on here in QLD (and all over the world, what's going on Mother Nature?!)....these pics are around the corner from my home taken yesterday morning...

My 2 boys....the entrance to the surf club can't be seen for the foam!

Is it snowing? Nope just sea foam...

The poor surf club cleaners car got swept away while he was working!

Hard to beleive that these pics were taken yesterday and today there is not one cloud in the sky! The weather today is so beautiful - we even just got back from having ice cream at the beach!
